Back to blogging finding the fun again

After dabbling in Twitter, Tiktok and instagram, I am back to blogging this time on Ghost.

I actually quit blogging sometime last year and 2021 as I was not satisfied managing a wordpress site. I could hire someone but with the pandemic causing economic turmoil, I made the decision to shut it down. Plus I was just randomly posting stuff and not creating in a niche I wanted to make.

Then next I decided to try social media, my idea was to just create content and let them managed the hosting and maintenance. But I slowly realise that letting a company who can anytime change their strategy and making you constanly make updates is not good for your mental wellbeing and business aspirations. Even when Tiktok took over giving all the free organic reach, I felt dissatisfied again with all the social media negative news and wanting to protect my own mental state I decided to quit that too recently.

Back to trying out blogging for a while.

Blogging

I have recently been rediscovering blogging again and I want to write this blog as a journal of my experiences and just share things without worrying about trends or chasing the algorithmn.

Writing has been a good release for me to put down my thoughts and ideas to gain clarity.

I also like simpler tools. Text medium and its apps are easier to use than trying to come up with new reels and tiktok ideas.

I can always addon more multimedia when I need it. i am thinking eventuall to turn some of the posts I make on the blog into video.

Now after discovering Ghost I am going to try and buikd my own neesletter I am reminded time and again that most platforms change and algorithms fizzle. I do think the only open platforms are Blogs, Podcasts and Email Newsletters.

Having my own platform allows me my own schedule without worrying too much about platform trends.

Using Social Media Minimally

I do think social media it can help you sell products if you use ads but I am not sure if its worth the time if you are trying to build something and market at the same time its better to focus on one thing at a time.

At this stage I am focusing on my own creating and might probaly hire someone to post it and not worry about the algorithmn. I have fun updating it without worrying much about the algorithm. Treat it like a distribution channel for my content.
