An indie animation made by China Studio Cetus42. Came across this from Jake Parker Newsletter. I really like the aesthetic. Gives me memories of Last Exile. The animation showcase two characters living in a submarine like airship only to get ambushed by a large whale like ship creature.

I like airships and the industrial design of these vehicles. I like that it feels like something steampunk in the world and propeller planes from world war 2. Very Last Exile like from the designer Range Murata.

The trailer makes me wants to rewatch it again. Everything about the editing and acting of the characters are feeling like a top tier anime from Bones, Sunriseh or other Japanese Studio.

I am not surprised that China will go the route to make indie anime. They have been developing the talents and expertise. I believe this is due to the influence of anime from Japan and korea. A lot of the recent success in their games like Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact help to continue to fuel this trend and style of animation.
